In order to mark Mental Health Awareness Week 2018 we are sharing some stories from our singers in regard to how being a member of the choir has a positive impact on their health.

Here is Madeleine’s Story:

Singing in the choir has had a massive positive effect on me. I am recovering from cancer and I feel that singing boosts the immune system, by increasing the hormone cytokines and at the same time suppress the stress hormone cortisol. It’s done me a world of good…Singing with others is a fantastic mood improvement activity!
